Last week has been worthwhile in Mangalore. After a long time took break from the mundane and started my journey in pursuit of happiness. Landed in Big Cinema. Whistle, cheers and applauds filled the air when the screen read ‘Raajneeti’
A good movie, I could relate why critics named this as Modern Mahabharatha. As the few reels were rolled by, my little brain started matching the similarities to the current circumstances happening @ my workplace. Needless to say, there are certain major players, certain minor and few independent. The objective is the same, ‘Survival’.
Shiv Khera in one of his talks says, “The power doesn’t make the ministers bad, but the power is misused by the people who are already bad”. He clarifies stating, “Politics is not a dirty game, no game is. But there are only dirty players”. He also had a message to us, “By not involving yourself in politics, you are already involved.”
Here are the rules of the game,
ü ಶತ್ರುವಿನ ಶತ್ರು ಮಿತ್ರ….[Mind boggling permutation and combinations, high end reactions, precipitants and residues]
ü Uproot the enemy
ü When the game is done with, ability to bid farewell to the enemy by saying, “Nothing personal, all professional…..”
ü Few went ahead and made me understand the hidden meaning of ‘Responsibility’, it’s simply Response + Ability [ability to respond the chameleon way]
In short its humans indulging in inhuman stuffs.
My workplace would out beat in certain matters at least …..
1. Rather than showcasing a talent and proving our worthiness, we pull the other person down.
2. We expect our neighbor to fight our battle.
Flashback, during free time I play a game ‘Counter Strike’ in my PC. A group of anti terrorists take on terrorists. When the terrorist plant a bomb, the screen would read, ‘Bomb has been planted’. With this little understanding of the background, let me correlate. Earlier I said, my workplace would out beat in a couple of matters, correction, here is the final one. ‘There is no pop up!!!’ We would only know when everything is done with.
ಅಮ್ಮ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪಾಠ - ಸತ್ಯಂ ವಧ, ಧರ್ಮಂ ಚರ
Kummi, interprets this as, ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಾಯಿಸು, ಧರ್ಮದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೆಡೆ
Murthanna says, “It doesn’t matter what happens to you, but what happens through you is the one which counts.”
With these certain uncertainties, I have rephrased my prayer, “God, help me to be me…….”

hahaha!! this is only if you win the game right?
Yesterday (24th) was hindu samrajya diwas, the day when shivaji was coronated. Its worthy to note some of shivaji's tactics to defeat his rivals. Other native kings used to pardon the enemies after winning the battle. History teaches us the effects of it. Shivaji did not repeat those mistakes and so he was so successful.
Bottom line - life is not a battle
good writing
ReplyDeleteI can see you are very influenced by the film. Yes it was a good film. I liked your attempt to relate your state of affairs with complexities exposed by the characters played on the screen.
ReplyDeleteAll in all a good film and a good write up ;)
@ Raji - I wish everyone understood that, "Life isn’t a battle field."
ReplyDelete@ Kallu – Thanks.
@ Jaggi - Correction, influenced by the circumstances, not the movie. Rajneethi was just a platform for me to express the complexities which I was undergoing.
